English language
Our staffs have varying levels of English language skills and several have basic skills in some other languages.
We have a program for all staff to attend an English language course at our expense.

Experience & training
All of our people have regular training and skill updates in providing Salon & spa services.

Who do you want for your treatment?
Girls or Boys?
We have a mix of staff; this is usually 1 male for every 3 female staff members.
We know that many people have a preference as to who gives them their treatment, so please ask and we will try to accommodate (our hair stylist Ryan does almost all hair cutting, styling and treatments.)
Of course we always try to arrange the best person or persons for your chosen treatment assigned to you. Sometimes, several of the staff may do different parts of your treatment.

Have a Favourite?
If you have a favourite staff member, please ask when you book and we will try to accommodate your request (remember we all need a day off and holidays - even in Paradise) .

Tell us what you think.
Feedback is important; we value your comments on your salon experience particularly if we did not meet your expectations in any way. We would hope through this to be able to continually improve our performance. There is a Guest comment book at reception. The proprietors monitor ALL e-mails to our e-mail address info@secretgarden-bali.com before they are received at the Spa, this can be a confidential way of letting us know your thoughts.

Please explain?
Our staff are encouraged to explain the treatment you will receive (written descriptions are in our menus book) however sometime they may be a little shy, or assume you know, possibly their explanation may not be clear. If so, we hope that you will ask?

Something we should know?
Sometimes guests may have a medical or physical condition, which might affect the way we look after you. This might be an old injury or weakness; (we even had a client with a pacemaker)
Please let us know before we start.

Strong or soft?
Everyone has a favourite massage style and level of pressure.
Our staff should always ask what pressure you would prefer on your massage and check once they start if is this OK? However, you are the guest so PLEASE tell us if you would like stronger or softer. If there is an area such as your back, which needs extra attention, we will be pleased to assist.

Hygiene
We pride our selves on the cleanliness of Secret Garden, towels and sarongs are washed after each use, and massage mattresses and bathtubs are cleaned.

What to wear?
Modesty or as the Indonesian call it "Malu"
We request that for hygiene and modesty you wear underwear or a swimsuit for your treatment.
For special treatments such as body scrubs we will offer a pair of disposable panties.
F or ladies a sarong is always provided to wrap around as you choose, and in all massages a sarong will be used to cover you.
A small basket is also provided for your clothes and personal items.
